- avoid the si, its a modem based on a rockwell rpi chipset, which
- requires you to run special software to get error detection and
- correction, and data compression. the vi has these features in rom
- and is much better. the si has class 1 fax whereas the vi has
- class 1 , class 2.0 fax, and voice mail
